Black Widow Company (BWC) ~ Military organization and teamwork.

The Black Widow Company is a teamwork-focused gaming organization with a military structure.

* Proven success in many games.
* Highly disciplined, mature member base.
* Military structure with a full promotion system for dedicated members to earn more responsibility.
* All members are given the chance to create and lead operations.
* We are dedicated to bringing our faction success in PvP.
* This bullet point is part of our interactive testing simulation.
* Teamspeak use required!
* 50+ active members, and many more in other games; Large enough to win, yet small enough to function.

"If you're not with us, you are already dead."

Recruitment is now open. We are looking for members who work well with our team and are able to rise to a challenge. If this interests you, drop by our forums for more information:

Black Widow Company was founded in February of 2003 by four active-duty military guys stationed at Fort Meade Maryland, in the halls of Ops-2B within the National Security Agency. Actually, most of the outfit's initial structuring and organization work could theoretically be considered classified, as the planning and structuring was done on classified computer systems. Traditionally, the BWC birthday had been celebrated as 23d March 2003, when we began playing together in Return to Castle Wolfenstein. However, the original website went live on April 1st 2003 (the date we officially celebrate BWC's birthday).

Many of our members currently serve, are civilian veterans, and a few are retired military (keeping us young pups straight). Several are members of foreign services. We have a comprehensive chain of command, with over 430 members who've been gaming with us in the last year.

Members were asked to give some thoughts about what BWC meant to them. These words continued to be repeated:

Honor
Commitment
Friendship
Talent
Loyalty
Dedication
Achievement

In Black Widow Company, you're not just a number and you're not just cannon fodder. You're part of a team, and your voice counts for something. Even as a new recruit, you're able to plan and run operations (as in, you're in command).

Earning rank and decorations is voluntary, but competitively based so that all types of players can earn them. In BWC, the mandatory requirements that we have for membership is Teamspeak, a recruitment post in the Recruiting area, and once you've been vetted and cleared for access you'll be required to read and sign the SOP. Our Standard Operating Procedures, which members sign as a requirement for continued activity in BWC, tends to resolve most issues before they start. It demands all members, from the highest ranking officers to the newest recruit, treat each other with respect. The SOP also dictates a clear Chain of Command in BWC, so when issues do arise, they can be resolved by the proper authority without undue fuss.

After that, a recruit will begin a short try out period of two weeks where we evaluate your performance and dedication. This includes attending operations, grouping, using the forums and completing basic training 1. While many will get in, we have found from past experience that a screening process is necessary to maintain the efficiency and fun level BWC expects. Applicants need not worry as long as they continue to group up and contribute. There is no lone wolfing in BWC. We also expect members to attend two operations a month. Operations can be anything from organized grouping, attacking keeps or such fun OPs as using basic equipment to destroy our enemies with skill alone. This operation requirement means there is always an event going on.

This try-out period will consist of two weeks on the field with BWC (in any game... perfect opportunity to try Planetside's two week trial) followed by a successful completion of BTI Phase One (Basic).

BWC's structure consists of a PVE and a PVP platoon, with each having a command staff (CO, XO, etc). A training master instructor, who is in charge of the training specialists for the various class/playstyle trainers, will diligently attend to any training requested or needed. We will train our recruits and existing members the way we feel will best accomplish our goals. To that end, we welcome anyone with existing Warhammer experience or other similar MMO-RPG "class training" experience.

BWC is strongly interested in looking to start an alliance. We are well-known across several MMOs for spearheading alliances and hosting the necessary requirements of Teamspeak and forums.

BWC is open to new games. Starting in Planetside Beta we grew in strength, organizing ourselves into military Task Forces. In BattleField 2, BWC took part in several tournaments and ladder tourneys, placing third in the TGL series and placing highly in others. BWC pioneered one of the tactics that began to dominate the TGL/BF2 tourneys, and attributes its teamwork and its unconventional thinking towards these successes. In Team Fortress 2, even without officially supporting the game, our members continue to rank in the top ten on servers that use hlstatx tracking. In Pirates of the Burning Sea, BWC helped to form and organize alliances that won port battles against enemies with more numbers and higher levels. In Inner Sphere Wars, a Mech Warrior MMO, BWC continued to work together to help change the tide of battle, bringing credit and recognition to its chosen faction, House Marik.

BWC isn't just about games. We are also friends. We were 8 of the 11 people who attended the SOE Fan Faire for Planetside. BWC holds twice-annual get togethers. The first official BWC event was held during a 26-hour paintball scenario at Splat Bros. in Virginia. Some of the members also run in other games as well as hold tabletop Battletech and D&D sessions.

We work hard, we play hard.

The official release date is September 19th. Do you have an awesome group to roll with or will you be left behind lonewolfing?

Many of our members are military, ex-military or law enforcement and understand order and discipline. This doesn't mean we are hard asses. This means we've been trained to kick asses, both in and out of real life.

Ok, I hate being a jerk but these morons have been trolling us for months..touting themselves as a premier online pvp guild formed from NATIONAL SECURITY AGENCY assets.

Zanduar quote" Many of our members are military, ex-military or law enforcement and understand order and discipline. This doesn't mean we are hard asses. This means we've been trained to kick asses, both in and out of real life."

Let me quote your livejournal, you naughty rabbit.
"Pressed red slits
My face is wet
I kinda have to jeer"

Or better yet..
""I had a nightmare last night. Giant snakes, insects and spiders. I ran out of my room and I guess I was loud because it woke up my mom."

What exactly are you trained to do again, Mister elite NSA guild? All I see is trained to crossdress due to the HUNDREDS of pictures you have scattered online. Let me give you a friendly lesson, Steven. If you are going to tout yourself as paramilitary trained badasses..use a new screen name instead of the one for OKCupid and your hundreds of crossdressing photos.

Trained for LOVE.

Thats just the tip of the iceberg, kids. You should see the rest of their "trained" crew. First guild i think we've ever destroyed before beta ended.

Kisses from Goon Squad.
